04/13/24 Spur Cross Trailhead, Cave Creek, Az
Join us at 8am Saturday morning for a Sonoran desert plant hike to witness and learn about native edible and medicinal plants. We’ll meet at the roundabout just inside Spur Cross Conservation, near the public restroom and just past the pay booth. Each attendee will have to pay the $3 entry fee in cash or use their annual membership. Bring cameras, water, walking sticks, hats, packs, and snacks. As you know it is always snake season. We carry a snake bite kit and provide scouting ahead for the group, but keep in mind you’re responsible for your own safety. Snake boots are nice but not necessary.
Our focus is to show you the plants and their uses for your own DIY herbal medicine. As Vitalist Herbalists, we use the energetics and actions of plants to balance the people by following the vital forces in each.
Our hikes are fun for everyone wanting to learn more about plant identification of edibles and medicinals of the Sonoran desert. We teach herbal medicine along the trail. We also break for snacks and lesson shares
This hike is almost full sun so bring plenty of fluids. Our trail is approximately a mile walk out and back. The route takes us downhill out, and uphill upon return, and is considered an easy hike for all levels.
